  • NRS Safety Knife for Kayak - Titanium

With all the tethered line to our fishing rods, paddle leash, pilers, anchor ropes .. etc onto our kayak. It is important to carry a knife close to your body at all times.

Should we capsize and have these ropes or fishing line tangled around our body, we might have difficulty in recovering ourself safely back onto the kayak, especially under strong wind and current condition. We might be dragged by our kayak.

Do carry a sharp, rust proof safety knife close to your body. On your PFD.

I spotted a good knife that is designed for kayakers like us. It comes with a blunt tip to prevent accidents like puncturing the inflatables or when used to assist a buddy who is tangled up. A serrated blade for cutting through thick anchor ropes easily.

Made of Titanium that will last forever thus giving us value for our money, in the long run.

I think a good knife, is as essential as a PFD for the kayak angler.

I think all knife will get blunt at some point of time.

Titanium is just lighter than steel and will not rust. It can last a lifetime with care taken.

                Hi Ian,

Looks useful, how long is the Blakely blade?
How is it deployed and kept? Switch blade, sideways fold in or scabbard (is there a photo)?

The blade is about 100mm long and fits in a scabbard.

Cool! Doubles up as a camping knife for me too. Thanks for the recommendations.

                      Update on the knife....

It rusts a little! So much for stainless steel!
